Handmade mattresses

Typical mattress depths are 7½" and 9": both are superb quality - the 9" in particular is especially appreciated by our customers. Our mattresses are available in any modern standard size or any non-standard size for antique beds and other unique requirements.

7½" - this mattress has a steel open spring construction completely encased in coconut coil fibre which in turn is copiously wrapped in woollen felt followed by 100% cotton ticking cover.   This means you've got lasting firmness combined with a luxury finish.

9" - this is a superb deep-sprung mattress which is wrapped in horse hair rather than coconut fibre. Woollen felt is applied as usual, but is sandwiched between two layers of cotton felt before the cotton ticking cover is applied.

Bases for divan sets are of timber construction, covered in layered felt before being upholstered - all sizes available.
